We have determined what could potentially happen on a road trip, and so now we want to provide you with a travel checklist to help prevent a break down from happening.
FILL UP WITH FUEL
The fuel suitable for your vehicle will be indicated inside your vehicle’s fuel cap. As mentioned in the previous post, it is best to keep your fuel level above 25% for the duration of your trip, both to keep your fuel system clean and to avoid running out in the middle of nowhere.
PUMP YOUR TYRES UP
Make sure that your tyres are at the correct Psi. This information can be found inside your door frame or inside your car manual. Ensuring that your tyres are at the correct pressure will help to avoid any uneven wear.
FILL UP WITH OIL
Check your dipstick for the oil level in your engine, and top it up with engine oil if necessary.
FILL UP YOUR RADIATOR
Check your radiator overflow compartment to see if there is fluid. You will always want to have fluid sitting in here to be safe. Top up the radiator with water. If you know what colour your radiator coolant is (red or green), then you can top up with the same.
FILL UP YOUR WASHER BOTTLE
Check that your wipers are working correctly and ensure that your washer bottle is filled up with water.
If you are uncertain with how to do any of the above checks, don’t fear. We are going to be releasing short and sweet “How To” videos on how you can do all of the above on our social media accounts!
Don’t forget that we are now offering FREE ROADSIDE ASSIST to all customers who get a logbook or premium service. This is a six month membership that will be renewed each time that you come back in for your regular six month service.
